Artistic education
At a very early age he started playing percussion, absorbing the rich And diverse traditional music that surrounded him ,especially from older musicians who came to Israel from Asia and various countries in the Middel east.

Artistic career
During his musical journey, Zohar was member of "Bustan Abraham", an ensemble in which both Arab and Jewish musicians collaborated. He also played with "Ziryab", an ensemble dedicated to classical Turkish and Arab music, under the artistic supervision of renowned oud player Teisir Elias. In time, Zohar developed his own personal and inimitable style on hand drums, Tof Miriam- frame drum, and has became a well known and highly respected artist on the international percussion scene. He has played and performed with Glen Velez, ustad Zakir Hossian (when with Bustan Abraham), Ahmet Misirli, Philip Glass, Ross Daly, Arto Tuncboyaciyan, ustad Hariprasad Chaurasia and others.

Zohar is currently the artistic director of "Peimot Festival", held at Confederation House in Jerusalem. The festival is devoted to percussion instruments and performens from Israel and abroad.

Recordings
Five albums with "Bustan Abraham". Recently Zohar performed with Ara Dinkjian on his new CD "Armanian in America", which was recorded live at the international Oud Festival in Jerusalem. As part of the trio "MOZDZER DANIELSSON FRESCO", Zohar has recorded two albums, "The Time" and "Between Us and The Light" with pianist Leszek Mozdzer and the double bass player Lars Danielsson. Both albums garnered double platinum award.
