Castle of Deutschlandsberg

Already in the 7th century on the rock, where the castle of Deutschlandsberg is located, a defence building was situated.
The „Kienburg“,the part of the castle which is used as a hotel now, was built in the middle of the 16th century, as well as the building of the restaurant and the cistern. Since 1932 the castle is in the possession of the township, and has been established as a exhibition center in South-West Styria.

The Archeo Norico - Castle Museum Deutschlandsberg is located in the medieval "Wohnturm" and the adjoined representing rooms of the castle.
