Artistic education
He trained at the famous piano schools of Gino Gorini (Venice), Edith Fischer (Vevey-CH), Alexis Weissemberg and Martha del Vecchio (Genoa). After obtaining a degree (with full marks) in 1987 at Padua Conservatory, he began a busy artistic life with very successful concerts in many Italian and foreign halls. In addition to performing he also graduated in Philosophy (Musical Aesthetics) at Venice University.
Artistic career
Francesco De Zan was the founder and artistic director of appreciated music Festivals in many beautiful Italian cities.
In the last few years he devoted himself also to chamber music, playing together with wellknown musicians such as violinists Valery Oistrakh, Hans Heinz Schneeberger (ECM artist), Gernot Winischhofer, Stefano Pagliani (Teatro alla Scala konzertmeister); cellist Patrick Demenga (ECM artist); with Ensembles as“I Solisti della Scala”, “Quartetto d’Archi di Torino”, “Quartetto Archimede”.
In 2001 he recorded Brahms complete Sonatas for Arkadia - Korea and Agorà - Italy with violinist S. Pagliani.
During 2006/2007 he has been invited to perform in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Spain, France, Czech Repubblic, Macedonia, Slovenia and Kosovo.
In 2007 he began an important musical partnership with the famous French cellist Christophe Coin.
