The duo completed the Triennial Course of Concert Training at the Arts Academy in Rome, under the guidance of Mr. Stefano Palamidessi and has studied with renown guitar masters David Russell, Alberto Ponce, Hopkinson Smith, Angelo Gilardino, and the brothers Sergio and Odair Assad.

Artistic career
The duo was formed in 1994 with the objective of researching and performing original repertoires for guitar duos from the 1800s and 1900s.
Since 1994, the duo has performed numerous concerts in Italy and abroad, winning several national and international competitions, including 14 first prizes, at: Montelimar, Rovere d’Oro, Schubert, Barsacchi, Calrinetto d’oro, Lagonegro and Subiaco for contemporary music.
Caputo and Pompilio are the organizers and artistic directors of the International Guitar Festival in Manfredonia, Italy, and “In concetr” in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy.
Both artists are guitar instructors at Italian schools.

Competitions and Prices
By having won the first prize in the 11th edition of the most important guitar duo competition in the world in Montelimar – France; Giuseppe Caputo and Luciano Pompilio became the first Italians to win the competition and received international recognition from the press and music experts.

Recordings
Live performances of the duo were recorded and broadcast by the Italian, Vatican, Ukraine and France Musiques radio stations. The duo has recorded four CDs: Works for Guitar Duo, dedicated to the repertoire of the 1900s, Petit déjeuner, dedicated to adaptations of 1800s music for two guitars for the Niccolò collection; and Spanish Atmospheres, which features the English soprano Anita Biltoo singing several popular Spanish songs and Goldberg Variations of J .S. Bach
