Artistic education
He took violin diploma at Venezia Conservatory of Music "B.Marcello", specializing later with R. Zanettovich, S. Gheorghiu and V. Spivakov. He studied with S. Accardo for three years at Stauffer Foundation, in Cremona, and he was first violin of Young Italian Orchestra.
Artistic career
He was invited to play as spalla in famous Italian orchestras, such as Italian Radio Simphony Orchestra, Verdi Theatre Orchestra in Turin, La Fenice Theatre Orchestra in Venice and Carlo Felice Theatre Orchestra in Genoa. He devoted himself to study baroque performing on historical instruments with the famous English conductor Christopher Hogwood, of which he became a collaborator in concerts and recordings. He was first violin in baroque orchestras such as “Handel & Haydn Society” of Boston (USA) and “The Academy of Ancient Music” (England).
Guglielmo is conductor of the Filarmonic Italian Solists and of the orchestra on authentic istruments L'Arte dell'Arco he has conducted in the most important Festivals in Europe, United States, Canada, Sud America, Japan and Australia, anywhere receiving positive judgements.
He plays Stradivari's King of Prussia (1705), alternating with a violin by Guadagnini (1757).
Recordings
He has made more of thirty recordings for important recording companies (among them Deutsche Harmonia Mundi/BMG Classics, Dynamic, Denon Nippon Columbia, Chandos Chaconne) that have received many international prizes from specialized critics.
Teaching
Federico Guglielmo is professor of chamber music for strings at the Foggia Conservatory of Music.
