Artistic education
Britta Stroeher was born in Gießen (Germany) and studied from 1994 on at the university in Frankfurt/Main with Gunnel Tasch-Ohlsson and at the universitiy in Mainz with Prof. Claudia Eder. Further imporant musical cooperation with Eberhard Schenk, Eugen Wangler and Charles Spencer.
Masterclasses with Sylvia Geszty, Brigitte Fassbaender, Peter Konwitschny, Elio Battaglia, Georges Delnon and Shari Rhoads.
Artistic career
Guest-engagements at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Stadttheater Gießen, Mecklenburgische Staatstheater Schwerin, Oper Frankfurt, Staatstheater Mainz, Nationaltheater Mannheim.
Since August 2003 member of the ensemble at the „Südostbayerischen Städtetheater Passau“, where she sang the chief part of Donizettis "Lucia di Lammermoor", the „Zerbinetta“ in "Ariadne auf Naxos" of Richard Strauss or the „Violetta“ in "La Traviata" and the „Adele“ of „Die Fledermaus“. She further sang following leading parts: Königin der Nacht, Blondchen, Konstanze, Adele, Marzelline, Gretel, Zerlina & Die schöne Galathee.
Competitions and prices
1997 she won at the age of 22 the 14th International Erika Köth Singing Competition. 1999 finalist at the International Enrico Caruso Competition in Milano and price winner at the International „Koloraturwettbewerb“ Luxemburg 2000 and the International Singing Competition 2002 of the „Festspielstadt“ Passau. From 1998 until 2001 she had the scholarhsip of the „Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes“.
